PROMPERU informs
21 de April de 2023

Peru is carrying out various actions to assist and guide national and foreign tourists in the different regions of its territory.

In response to information requests regarding weather events in our country, we inform you that visits to Peru are carried out normally: its tourist attractions and protected natural areas are regularly visited by travelers. The only exception is the northwestern zone comprising the regions of Tumbes, Piura, and Lambayeque, where accessibility may be complicated or is temporarily closed. We recommend getting information before the trip through IPERÚ’s WhatsApp: +51 944492314 (text only).

Machupicchu

The Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu is in optimal conditions to receive tourists, so visits to the Machupicchu Archaeological Park are typically developing in the established schedules and circuits. Likewise, the Inka Trail Network is open to all visitors.

It is essential to mention that the access roads to Machupicchu are free and ready to receive visitors.

Airports

Andean Airports of Peru announced the reopening of the Inca Manco Cápac International Airport (Juliaca, Puno), which will resume its commercial flight operations for passengers starting Tuesday, April 25th. At the national level, airports usually operate, except for the Shumba airport (Jaén, Cajamarca), which continues with its operations suspended due to maintenance works. It should be noted that only passengers with scheduled flights may enter these facilities, except for people requiring special assistance and/or minors.
