At this year’s nominations, Peru was rewarded with 4 World Travel Awards in several sections. The Exports and Tourism Promotion Board – PromPeru was named South America’s Leading Tourist Board for the fourth time in a row by WTA, also known as “Oscar of the travel industry”. “All these efforts give value to our country in the eyes of the world, thus consolidating itself as a destination full of history, culture, nature, and delicious cuisine,” Luis Torres, PromPeru’s CEO, said.

South America’s Leading Culinary Destination award, as well as the South America’s Cultural Destination award were nominated to Peru. Likewise, Machu Picchu was named South America’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2019. These awards reflect, once again, the high quality of Peru’s tourism products and services.
